The manager is not for download. Just like you can use yahoo.com for mail, you can use the hotspot manager for your router management. click on the link http://moon.mt.lv/radius/ to enter the manager.

yes, it works with 2.9 also

wjw - if you do more testing and will actively use the system, it will help us finish it sooner.

Just a couple of questions .....

1. Will this come with routeros or will there be subscription service.
2. Can data be passed into the manager via http requests / ssl / email / etc ... as to allows paypal or on the fly user addition to the service.
3. Where does the user signup for the service and access the main signup page.

regards,

I have one cafe using it 'live' now. I'm also trying to convince some more people to move to it. Trouble is they don't like the 'beta' part ;)

niall,
1. Will this come with routeros or will there be subscription service.
at the moment it is subscribtion based system.
2. Can data be passed into the manager via http requests / ssl / email / etc ... as to allows paypal or on the fly user addition to the service.
currently no.
3. Where does the user signup for the service and access the main signup page.
you should add your users manually to the HotSpot Manager.

Many thanks for the reply edix.

Is there an estimate on how much the service will cost ?

Personally I like the whole idea of the system as there are few low cost radius/auth/wisp packages out there at the moment which make for rapid deployment.

As a feature request some sort of interaction between the client side and the mangagement system would be useful to build third party applications .... a good example of this is clickatell.com who have a number of ways of interacting with an sms gateway

Just my 2 cents ... keep up the good work

What URL can we redirect the end user to on the mt hotspot web service to signup and make payment/debit?
Allow direct access to the external server in dst-nat and hotspot-temp firewall chain or, alternatively, either in mangle, or in walled-garden. Note: walled-garden is not compatible with HTTPS.

Modify login page of the HotSpot servlet to redirect to the external authentication server. The external server should modify RADIUS database as needed
Trying to figure out when using the online radius beta how to redirect customers there to signup and pay to use.

Okay, I can live with that... but still, what URL do I point my MT at for the MHM radius server? And, isn't there a signup page somewhere for end users? I might have missed something, but I can't seem to find the instructions for MHM, just hotspots in general.

Hi,

I've been getting lots of problems of "Radius Server Timed Out" .... generally its happening around 9-10am NZ time... 10-11pm GMT..

It's causing real problems, and there are no internet access problems at the time. The customer who is testing it, is almost to the point of getting rid of it. Although, he only told me about it yesterday after having the problem for the last month.

Any ideas? When is the local radius backup server option going to be available?

Thanks,

Bill

You were originally talking about the possibility of being able to buy a local backup server from yourselves in case of problems.... is this still going to happen?

Just started testing mht, looks good for internet cafes and small hotspots.

We operate and support many small WISPs, they all sell prepaid accounts mostly valid for one month from first connection.

Can you impement this feature please.

Many thanks for all of you at Mikrotik.

Hi guys,

I have just tested the Hotspot Manager. I found a few strange things.
1. The session time is empty even if I have users logging in. (log file with time stamps)
2. Time stamps on the log are different with my MT clock (I have set both with the same zone +08:00)
3. Status is always inactive evenif user is logged-in (status never changes)
4. is it possible to increase the number of characters in the system generated user ID and password?
5. can we reformat the user ticket print-out. (too big A4 size) have a template for a POS printer so we can issue over the couter selling of pre-paid time.

Any explanation will be much appreciated.

MHM feature request, and question

Tue May 24, 2005 5:51 pm

MHM feature request, and question

1- In the sessions report, totals for each user , including total upload, downoad and total uptime. Number of sessions would also be usefull.

2- Option to limit a user to a specific NAS

3- Option to search and delete logs

Is it possible to use mhm with a NAS that has no real IP?

Best Regards
Nazem

I have just started to use the manger for pppoe users and am fairly happy with it bar a few problems that have already been covered. I have noticed that backups of the data (i.e. user accounts) can be made, however I haven't found anywhere to restore that data, is that in a planned feature or have I just missed it?

Thanks

I have been getting a large amount radius accounting timeout log. Normis, is the backup/mirror site already up and running?

Latency is too bad that I shifted back to a local RADIUS server beside my MT.

Any news will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

With final release version will be available for download, because no radius can do prepaid time like 50 hours...

I really like the whole MHM thing but I need some kind of provisioning tied into it for billing as in credit card/bank account transactions. I am not sure if MikroTik can provide that. May be a third party system. Any body using/developing/ordering something like it?

Glad to hear that. :D

I wish I could attend the MUM...Too far and too expensive for the company to sponsor it

Hopefully you will put up public information regarding the same atleast after the MUM.

Thanks.
